Under the collection themes ‘Sense of Place’ for women and ‘Natural Engineering’ for men, the MARC O’POLO 2015 collection develops further towards an urban style that’s cool, casual and contemporary. Looks are clean, refined and decidedly intellectual this season, but the intellectualism is balanced by a certain coziness to the soft silhouettes and comfortable materials, with boiled wool, wool jersey, high-twist wool and knitted wool in a shearling quality all figuring prominently in the collection. In keeping with the spirit of urban sophistication, colours have been reduced mainly to shades of grey, with lighter and darker shades frequently combined in a single look. Grey mélange, grindle and mouliné effects, while characteristically MARC O’POLO , are especially important for Fall/Winter 2015.
Artful contrasts, whether the juxtaposition of a silk blouse with a wooly coat for women or a corduroy blazer with wool jersey jogging pants for men, also play a key role this season. Indeed, it’s this engineering of new looks from natural styles and materials that gives the collection its name.
